About Me

Software Engineer · Full Stack Development & Technical Leadership

Hey, I'm Gabriel! 👋

I'm a Brazilian Software Engineer with over six years of experience turning ideas into digital products and complex challenges into practical solutions.

I started my career at 19, driven by curiosity and a passion for understanding how technology works. Since then, I've worked across different industries, including technology, finance, agriculture, and energy, with companies like ExxonMobil, Fitlab, and Bioma Investimentos.

Throughout my journey, I've built web and mobile applications, modernized software architectures, and worked with technologies such as TypeScript, React, Next.js, React Native, Node.js, Python, and cloud services.

Over time, my career has evolved beyond writing code. I've taken on technical and operational leadership responsibilities, helping teams improve processes, make better decisions, and connect engineering with business goals.

I believe great software isn't just about clean code or the latest technology. It's about understanding people, solving meaningful problems, and creating something that truly makes a difference.

I'm naturally curious, adaptable, and always excited to learn something new. Whether I'm leading a project, exploring artificial intelligence, or building something from scratch, I bring the same mindset: stay curious, keep improving, and never stop building.

Projects & Work

Three products taking shape

Three projects are coming soon. Manejo and Orçado are currently in development, while Musical Runner is in the planning stage.

Manejo — Coming Soon · In Development

Manejo is a web and mobile livestock management platform for beef and dairy operations. It records field data for weighing, health, reproduction, feeding, inventory, and costs.

Each entry automatically updates everything that depends on it: average daily gain and animal history, inventory, costs, and alerts. The farm always remains in context, with role-based permissions and a full audit trail of who did what.

New accounts go through team approval and a four-step onboarding before they can use the platform. The design covers this entire journey—from the landing page to the app—with batch weighing sessions in the corral as its core workflow.

Orçado — Coming Soon · In Development

Orçado is a SaaS platform for service professionals—electricians, plumbers, painters, and technicians—to build estimates from a service catalog on a phone or computer.

Each estimate is sent to the client as a branded link through WhatsApp. The client can approve, decline, or request changes with one tap, without creating an account.

The service provider can see when the client opened and approved the estimate. Every change creates a new version, keeping the entire negotiation in one place instead of scattered across WhatsApp messages.

Musical Runner — Coming Soon · Planning

Musical Runner is a personalized music recommendation system for runners that connects workout data, context, and musical characteristics.

It analyzes factors such as pace, heart rate, cadence, time of day, location, mood, and the sonic profile of each track.

Its goal is to recommend better-suited music for different types and moments of a run, adapting to each runner's history and individual performance.

Game

Original cartridge on desktop · Flappy Room on mobile

The arcade stays entirely inside the portfolio. On a computer the cabinet boots Definitely Not Mario Bros, an original platform game written for this room: its own character, its own art, no emulator and no borrowed cartridge. From there the cabinet can switch to a keyboard-ready SNES player, where a visitor may load their own .sfc or .smc file, which runs only in their browser and is never uploaded. On Gabriel's standalone local build the cabinet opens his own Super Mario World cartridge from a private project asset that is never published. On phones and tablets, the arcade becomes Flappy Room, an original touch-friendly flight game.

Articles, Mentions & Talks

Sharing Knowledge & Ideas 📚

I've always believed that one of the best ways to grow as a developer is to share what you know.

I had the opportunity to work as a programming teacher at Oficina do Amanhã, where I taught web development fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and programming logic.

Teaching gave me a different perspective on technology. It challenged me to explain complex concepts in simple ways, understand different learning styles, and help others take their first steps into programming.

It also reinforced something I strongly believe: being a good developer isn't just about solving problems yourself, but also about helping others understand how to solve them.

Books Worth Reading

The Phoenix Project — Gene Kim, Kevin Behr & George Spafford

A great story about IT, DevOps, teamwork, and how technology connects with business operations. It's a book I'd recommend to anyone interested in understanding the bigger picture of software engineering.

The Pragmatic Programmer — Andrew Hunt & David Thomas

One of my recommendations for developers at any stage of their careers. It's about developing the right mindset, taking ownership of your work, and continuously improving your craft.

For me, learning and sharing knowledge are essential parts of being a software engineer.

Music

Life Has a Soundtrack 🎵

Music has always been an important part of my life. I'm the kind of person who listens to a little bit of everything. My playlists can jump between completely different genres, and that's exactly how I like it.

I enjoy discovering new artists, sounds, and rhythms, and I've always been particularly interested in percussion instruments. There's something fascinating about rhythm, how different beats come together, and how music can completely change the energy of a moment.

Music is also something I love exploring from a technological perspective.

When Music Meets Technology

I'm currently working on a project that explores the relationship between music and running performance.

The idea is to build a smarter music recommendation system that considers musical characteristics such as tempo, BPM, rhythm, and spectral features, connecting them with running patterns and individual preferences.

The project explores concepts from signal processing, graph-based recommendation systems, and data analysis to understand how music could adapt to different moments of a workout.

It's still a work in progress, but it's a great example of something I really enjoy: combining different interests, experimenting with technology, and turning curiosity into something meaningful.

And, of course, sometimes I just want to put on my headphones, hit shuffle, and enjoy the music.

Hobbies

Life Beyond the Keyboard 🎮

As much as I love technology, I believe some of the best moments happen away from a computer screen.

Sports & Staying Active 🎾

I've been playing tennis for about a year, and it's quickly become one of my favorite hobbies. I've already participated in a few tournaments, and I really enjoy the challenge of improving my technique, strategy, and consistency.

I'm also a big fan of sports in general. I enjoy playing soccer, volleyball, table tennis, and going for runs. For me, sports are a great way to stay active, challenge myself, and have fun with friends.

Gaming 🎮

I've always enjoyed video games, especially Nintendo games.

I love the creativity, colorful worlds, memorable characters, and unique gameplay experiences that Nintendo brings to its games.

Gaming is one of my favorite ways to relax, have fun, and sometimes get inspired by how interactive experiences are designed.

Books & Imagination 📖

I also enjoy reading, especially fantasy books and books related to technology.

Fantasy stories are a great way to explore different worlds, characters, and ideas, while technology books help me discover new perspectives and become better at what I do.

I think having different interests keeps life exciting. Whether I'm on a tennis court, playing a Nintendo game, reading a fantasy book, or experimenting with a new technology, I'm always looking for something new to explore.
